As per Forum requirements, here is my premature obit. Alec & Barbara Gatherer, based in Manchester, just bought a 13/2 Windrush 1990. The van is literally like new; we can't believe it. We paid more that what seems to be the average price, but we don't care - we are delighted. It was bought to avoid me having to tackle the ever-growing list of jobs needed to our old Royale Tourstar. My 2½ litre Riley will be the tractor. I am currently recovering from spinal surgery, so our new van has gone straight into storage and we will have to wait until next year to enjoy it. The Windrush is a leap into modernity for us; until the Royale we were enjoying a selection of vintage vans such as Freeman, Angela, Winchester, Eccles, and our favourites, Cheltenham. My wife is a reluctant caravanner (doesn't like leaving our ancient cat Kevin) so not much planned for next year; south Cheshire in early May (behind a pub); Riley rally in Warwick in July (near a pub) then on to the Cirencester area (behind a pub - and on the border of the Cotswold AONB!); and a friend's farm in Shropshire for a Riley gathering in August (pop-up pub in Dutch barn). My other interests are CAMRA, classic cars and caravans, fly fishing, wrist watches, and UK touring. I grew up in Cornwall but have lived in Manchester for 40+ years. Someone has to. Here is a picture of last van and tractor:
