Hello Cotswold owners.
My name is Mark and I live in Carmarthenshire and I have a problem !
I was about to put my 1990 Windrush12/2 that I have owned for 8 years up for sale, but I couldn't bring myself to do it !
Let me explain. As I said I have had my lovely van for 8 years but have discovered it needs a new axle and brake cables .
I am on a low income, so can't afford to spend too much, but need a caravan as I sometimes work away from home and stay in my caravan.
I have also just found what used to be solid wood but is now totally decayed and damp, from the side of the window.
There are other problems, but fixable, for a price, especially if I can't do the work myself and the thing is, I don't have the skills , tools or time to do the work.
The axle can be had for £150, but a mechanic wants £250 to replace the old one which is very rusted on the end plate.
With the new rot I have found and the other problems, I just don't think it's worth it.
But for someone with the skills, it could be a great restoration project.I was just about to put it on a well known auction site, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.
I know it's only a caravan, but I love it, and having seen other old vans, I only want a Cotswold.
Can anyone help me make my mind up !
