Thanks Stuart. Yes, it's not too bad, just trying to sort a few jobs out on it and get to know it a bit. One job that worries me a bit are the roof lights. The sealant around the base looks a bit dried out and cracked and will probably let water in I think. Any ideas on the best way to sort that ? Remove the roof light and re seal ? Doesn't look too big a job but I've never done one and I'd rather do it properly. Cheers, Matt. Its not a big job at all and if its going to leak in anywhere it will be from the roof lights and air ventilator. I take mine off every 2 years and reseal them its the only way it dosent matter what sealant you use if you are going to do it regular as all of them break down after a short period . I term it as preventative maintenance and I have never had a leak in yet. Cheers Stuart

Thanks Stuart. I'll get it done as soon as I get time to work on it.
When you say Air Ventilator do you mean the little mushroom near the front of the van ?

Its easy but when you apply the sealant to bed it make sure you take off all residue from previous sealant and clean off with a rag lightly covered with thinners to create the bond. Another tip when you apply the new sealant and tighten up the roof light dont overtighten it as you will force all the sealant out. and loose the seal tighten lightly then a few days after torque the screws up a little more. that way it gives time for the sealant to act as a gasket when you torque it down. Cheers stuart

Thanks Stuart.
I'm still yet to do this job. The van has been undercover over the winter. I bought one of the cheapish Kampa covers and it seems to be holding out nicely. Just as long as it keeps the water out that's the main thing for me.
I will report back when I finally get around to re sealing the roof lights, I will do it !
Seems a bit quiet on here ?

Have you done the sealant round the roof light yet?
The layout of your van looks very much like my windrush 11/2 only longer.

I removed the old ones and inspected the timber frame. Quite surprised they were very good, only a very small dark patch in the one corner on the one above the kitchen area but nothing at all to worry about at all. I actually went out and bought replacement roof lights as the frames on the outside had warped and I feared I would have problems re sealing against the roof. It also saved me having to clean off all the sealant that had been used previously, Yes, someone had been there before ! I think the Windy's and Celeste are the same layout. I looked at a Windrush last year and that was also the same. It was the same length van as my Celeste.
