I have the Alde 2921 heating/hot water system in my Celeste. Its the final part of my recommisioning jigsaw before we go away for 3 weeks next month. Everything else in the van is mint and works, so I have no real worries that anything sinister is lurking. However its empty. So are there any tips as to the best way to fire it up? Is it just a case of; 1.filling the header tank with the recommended water/antifreeze mix. 2. Bleeding the system via the valve under the exterior door 3. filling the main tank. 4. attaching the gas. I will only be using it for hot water. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Aldo,
Go on to Alde website and you should be able to download their manual for this model. Is it the electronic start one(comfort I think) or the piezo ignition (press button). From using my own system filling the main tank with water ( if that's what you mean) is done when your pump builds up& pumps the water around every where to each tap. If your talking about bleeding the system there shouldn't be much to bleed as it is a one pipe system and the pump on the boiler is so high any air would rise to here and escape. Attaching the gas is done via the small front side door by your hitch it is hard to tell you what to do unless I know what system you have, as it may have been changed from the original Gaslow 2 bottle system. filling the header tank is easy but the mix ratio of water /antifreeze I don't know off hand. But usually the ratio is set by what temperature you want to cover ie down to -5 celcius or -15 etc more antefreeze is needed for lower temp. Best of luck thanks olan.

Hi Olan
I am having problems getting the pump that fills the main tanktto work. when I plug it in to the 2 pin plug above the filler noyhing happens. I have tested the pump on a battery it works correctly.
Is there a switch somewhere or is there a technique I am missing out on?
Best Regards
Alyn

Check the switch is on on the control panel also there are slow blow fuses that might have gone in the panel if at anytime there was a fault on the system.

Finally found the fault with the pump. The pins have a split in them and they had closed up, thus not making contact with the plug. Small screwdriver to slightly open the pins and all is working again.
