How do I tell how old my Windrush is?

I have a 15/2S and the serial number is 01978.

Does this mean that it was the 19th caravan made in '78?

(Inside the original lights there's a stamp that says manufactured 1978).

Anyone know how to go about finding what the year of manufacture was?

Hi Heather when i was trying to find out about my caravan i spoke to Bob Clark of Bob Clark caravans in Grimsby, he worked for Cotswold caravans and gave me lots of info he was very helpful, you can get him on 01472 267255 perhaps Stuart could contact him and get him to join this site.

Hi Heather
The year of manufacture is usually cast into the hitch on the van unless its had a new hitch on it.

the model number is usually on a plate to the right of the door as well but sometimes this plate goes missing.

No e-mail address but do a search for Bob Clark caravans he may have a website

Thanks Stuart. Unfortunately all I can see on the hitch is rust (it's being replaced this weekend). The plate is still on the van, next to the door, but it doesn't have the year on it, just serial no and model no.

It'd be great if Bob Clarke could join the site ... I'd have him pestered to death with questions! ;D
